About this campaign

We have been in Cooks Childrens Hospital since May 5, 2015 and are incurring quite a bit of medical debt. If you do not want to purchase a t-shirt, you can donate. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.

Myson, Zack, was running sprints at school May 5, 2015, and suddenly collapsed. CPR was immediately started and 911 called. Once paramedics arrived, theytook over and had to shock him 3 times. He had no heartbeat for 20 minutes. Once they regained his heartbeat, he was flown by Air Evac to Cooks Childrens Hospital in Ft. Worth. We live in Brownwood, TX (3 hours away) and have been staying in the hospital with him and have not been able to return to work. He was in the PICU and had tubes in his nose and tubes down his throat to breathe for him. They kept his body ata hypothermic state to keep his brain from swelling. They also kept him sedated for 3 days. On May 8, 2015, they warmed him back to his normal body temp and turned off all his meds. The next step was to remove all the tubes. Oh, did I mention that he collapsed on his 17th birthday? During his 3 days of sedation, he would have brief moments where he woke up and would fight the nurses to try and pull his tubes out, so they had to restrain him. Zack has always been a healthy kid and we had no clue as to what would have caused him to collapse. Doctors say it was sudden cardiac arrest. From the moment we received the initial phone call letting us know he had collapsed, we immediately started praying and believing for his complete healing. Doctors said that because off the lack of oxygen to his brain, that he may have some brain damage. But I serve a BIG God, and I stood on 2 Timothy 1:7 that says: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and SOUND MIND. On May 10, 2015 (Mother's Day) he was moved from the PICU up to the Cardiac floor where they are running more tests on his heart to determine the cause. I am so very happy to tell you that he is whole and complete, lacking nothing. Nothing missing, nothing lacking! The neurologist has evaluated him and has released him from his care. Zack's brain is perfect. He is talking and eating and gaining his strength back. He has such an awesome testimony to share. He was DEAD for 20 minutes and God gave him back to me. Here is where I need your help. We have incurred quite a bit of medical debt and insurance only covers so much. If you would like to help us out, order a t-shirt. If you do not want a shirt, you can donate. Anything you donate will help tremendously. Thank you, Teresa Clements (a very blessed mom) P.S. Please share this link and spread the word. Every little bit helps!
