About this campaign

'Yes You Can Can' still get your one-of-a-kind commemorative Toussaint sport-tek performance shirt. I started the "Yes We Can Can" charity campaign to honor the memory of legendary musician/songwriter Allen Toussaint and help feed the homeless. Allen started New Orleans Artists Against Hunger & Homelessness (NOAAHH) more than 30 years ago. Among his many honors and awards, Toussaint is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he received the National Medal of Arts award from President Barack Obama. We all still mourn the loss of this musical genius and giant of a humble man who gave so much back to his community and the world. His song 'Southern Nights' brings to life such fond memories of Allen and my dad sharing stories...a chronicle of our family history that will live on forever through his words and music. The world was his family, and we want to keep his legacy of helping others alive. I designed this shirt to wear in the Rock 'n Roll half marathon in New Orleans toencourage runners in the race and inspire others to live the lyrics of his song..."Yes we can can." The shirt also commemorates Allen Toussaint Day, January 14, which was his birthday. Your donations help NOAAHH keep Allen's fight against hunger and homelessness going strong.

New Orleans Artists Against Hunger & Homelessness (NOAAHH) was founded in 1985 by music legends Allen Toussaint and Aaron Neville when they brought together a group of New Orleans musicians to perform a concert to benefit the hungry and homeless in New Orleans. Since then, musicians from New Orleans and all over the world have donated their time and talent for NOAAHH concerts and gala celebrity mixers to help NOAAHH address the issues of hunger and homelessness in the Greater New Orleans region. Proceeds from the concerts are distributed by NOAAHH to philanthropic agencies and charities that are experienced in providing food and shelter to those in need. NOAAHH honors Allen's legacy by continuing its founding mission. To date, NOAAHH has distributed more than $2 million to charity since the first NOAAHH concert 32 years ago.
