About this campaign

All t-shirt funds will go directly towards our service trips to Haiti, Peru, and Mexico where we will be providing rehabilitation services and equipment to those without access to basic health care.

Thank you Aaron Kuehn for allowing us to use his artwork on our shirts: http://aaronkuehn.com.

As students of the Department of Physical Therapy at Wheeling Jesuit University (WJU), we embrace the Jesuit tradition of educational excellence in our preparation to be Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT). We also strive for professional and ethical leadership, the betterment of society, and services to others, including areas underserved by the health care system.

Our international (Mexico, Haiti, and Peru) service learning trips are opportunities for us to immerse ourselves in areas outside of the United States and reflect on a global aspect of health care and our role on a much larger scale. This opportunity allows us to interact with various people and communities who share their stories, needs, and wisdom with us. The focus of our international service trips is to help those who do not have access to the basic health care or rehabilitation services, to make us aware of the fundamental reason why we live a life of service, and to provide an opportunity for the participants of these service trips (both from the US and abroad) to share their knowledge and skills.

With your donation or purchase of a t-shirt, we will have the opportunity to provide physical examinations, mobility training, and various other health care services to the underserved people of Mexico, Haiti, and Peru. Your donation will help pay for airfare, housing, and food for us (students of WJU’s DPT program) while we are on these service learning trips. Additionally, these trips will enable us to develop and enhance our clinical, interpersonal, and health care advocacy skills. Even the smallest donations will help to decrease the amount of money each of us will have to spend for this opportunity to become more empathic as health care providers and help less privileged individuals around the world.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our cause and for any donation you choose to make in helping us on our mission to improve the quality of life of individuals locally and around the world.

We would also like to thank the artist of the Skeleton Typogram, Aaron Kuehn for allowing us to use his design for our shirts. Without his donation, we would be unable to have this fundraiser. Here is the link to his website where you can purchase prints or pdfs of his work: http://aaronkuehn.com

God Bless,
Students of Wheeling Jesuit University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
