About this campaign
By purchasing one of our fundraiser shirts, you will be helping the Museum continue its mission of Preserving the Heritage and History of the Railroads of New Jersey through the Restoration, Preservation, Interpretation and Operation of Historic Railroad Equipment and Artifacts from New Jersey and the immediate vicinity.
In 2015, the Museum celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The Museum building houses historic railroad artifacts from decades gone by, and has a rail yard with preserved rail equipment, some of which date back to 1899. Excursion Train rides take place during the year with the proceeds from fares being used to benefit the Museum which is an all-volunteer, 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. Additional funds are still required to maintain and restore our historic equipment. The pictures below show our Steam Locomotive No. 385 before and after its cosmetic restoration. This type of restoration goes on continually throughout the year at the Whippany Railway Museum.
