Water IS Water ~ Not Waste!

WasteWater Education is committed to providing cost effective, web based, interactive, face-to-face education. We believe this is particularly relevant to small communities and their officials, many of whom are either retired seniors or working full time - hence may not be inclined or have the discretionary time to devote to training. Travel to training locations can be all but impossible both due to the time commitment, employment constraints but also the cost. We are equally committed to providing affordable, easy access to exemplary education and wastewater planning resources and tools. WasteWater Education has a fundamental commitment to creating informed and engaged citizens who have a sense of ownership, both of their environment and their home. WasteWater Education echoes the sentiment of USEPA - Clean Water Begins At Home. We advocate for affordable sanitation and providing the resources necessary for property owners to access that. Nothing promotes best practices like linking them to successful outcomes: lower utility bills linked to better air quality, lower water bills linked to preserving water resources, lower home maintenance costs linked to durable construction methods, and landscaping for nature linked to low impact development and species protection. In many rural small communities, the percentage of individual property owners who rely on onsite treatment systems far exceed the national average. Community systems work. They are affordable, sustainable and resilient to the economic fluctuations so devastating to communities with limited resources. Education is key to long term success. This project will help to support our public education e-learning suite of communication and software tools and will truly make our programs available to any community no matter how remote, enabling people to meet ‘face to face’ even if on opposite sides of the country!
