Brandon was born on October 20, 2014! We were so excited to finally meet our little boy but after a hour of giving birth that joy instantly turned to fear. Brandon's body was turning cold and his lips were blue and that's when the doctors came rushing in our room. They hooked our son up to the heart monitor and there is when we could see his oxygen levels were dropping and dropping fast and wouldn't stay where they needed to be. That is when our OB decided he needed to be transported to DuPont Hospital to be seen by Dr. Kim. We stayed on full day in the NICU at Dupont and even there Dr. Kim said our son was a mystery and he couldn't tell us what was going on with our son. So the next day our son was airlifted to Rileys Children Hospital in Indianapolis. When we arrived at Riley's Brandon was already in his room and going through a Echo. Around 2 in the morning on October 21, 2014 we finally got diagnose of what our son had. Our son was suffering 9 different heart defects. He was diagnose with Ebstein's Anomaly,Pulmonary Artery Hypoplasia,Tricuspid Stenosis,a small right ventricule,marked bowing of the Artrial Septum with PFo,Hypoplastic Pulmonary Arteries,a small PDA,Left ventricle non-compaction,and persistent pulmonary hypertension. We were in the NICU at Riley's for a whole month. he had to go through a lot to get to come home he was on life support for about a week and a half. But on November 19, 2014 we were finally able to bring our little man home for the first time. Then on January 8, 2015 we went to go meet with his surgeon Dr. Dearani at the Mayo Clinic where we got some more news about his condition. From the Echo the Mayo did on our son he no longer has left ventricle non-compaction which is prayer answered by God. When we meet with Dr. Dearani after Brandon's echo he told us he dont think Brandon has Ebstein's Anomaly but is more certain our son has another very rare Congenital Heart Disease called "Congenital Tricupsid Valve Dysplasia". Which is where his tricuspid valve is very narrow and is leaking blood. But with his valve being so narrow Dr. Dearani cant fix his valve, Brandon has to have a valve replacement which we are thinking around a year and a half to two for his first surgery but no later then 5 if we can hold off. The weekend of January 16 we were back at Riley's with Brandon because he caught some kind of virus which was very fatal on him and caused his oxygen levels to go down and they didn't want to go back up and he was IV fluids because he wasn't hardly eating for use which caused him to be dehydrated. But the next day he was doing a lot better and was slowly getting his appetite back. Now we are back home which he is still weak and sleepy so we are praying this virus don't come back and stays away from our heart baby.
