About this campaign

This money will help support us in paying the fees for the adoption as well as funding our trip to China to bring our new son Ty home.

Lynn FamilyjpgNow that we have been paired with our newest son, Ty Drechsel Lynn, we are making one more push to raise money to aid in the fees and travel costs that still remain. We love our new t-shirts so much that we wanted to offer them again in the hopes that more people will realize how awesome they are and want to buy them for all of their friends and family. We still have approximately $14,000 that we need to pay to finish the process and bring our son home. We have been able to save a significant portion of that, but every little bit helps in bringing him home.

If you aren't aware of our story, or the process we have gone through please continue reading, or check out our blog at the link below. Thank you again for the support, and please share with your friends and family so that we can make this an even bigger success than the last time.

With all our love,

Dave, Amanda, Olivia, Easton, Hannah, and Ty.

After our youngest daughter was born we felt like we were done having children of our own, but we weren’t ready to completely close the door on adding to our family. The obvious route that still remained was adoption, but it wasn’t something that we really talked about in depth most of the time. It was mostly just in occasional conversations that we would have together.

Then about a year ago we started to talk about it all a little more seriously.

As life has a tendency to do, it got a little in the way as we were in the middle of moving our family to Japan for my job and what has been a great adventure to this point. With all of that going on it was apparent that the time simply was not right for us to seriously pursue an adoption.

About six months into our Japan adventure and things had settled down quite a bit, so naturally it was time to stir the pot and make things a little more exciting.

As is the custom for the things my wife wants to do, she sent me a message on my phone while I was away from home that she wanted to talk more seriously about adopting, which I was actually quite excited about because I have felt for some time now that there is still another little spirit that needs to join our eternal family.

Now is as good of a time as any to mention how important God has been in this whole process for us. He has been an active participant in everything we have done since I asked Amanda to marry me almost a decade ago, and this journey has been no different. There have been many moments of personal prayer and inspiration that it simply wasn’t time yet, but to not turn away completely because he had a special plan for us. We believe very strongly in the eternal nature of families, and I knew that our eternal family was not complete yet.

In this instance, that plan was sparked by the story of some friends from work who had just adopted a beautiful little girl from China. It was upon reading their story that Amanda sent me that message and got the proverbial ball rolling for us. We had actually talked about an international adoption previously so it was not any real stretch to get excited about adopting from China as well.

One of the unique aspects of this adoption is that our new son, like all of the kids available in China, is that he has special needs. Some of them are more serious than others, and we won’t really know until we get matched what the issue(s) will be, but like everything else I know God will line us up with the right child.

What I thought would be a slow and steady process involving research and preparation has rapidly turned into large amounts of paperwork being filled out, signed, and mailed back to the states. We have also been actively searching the internet reading, watching, and learning all that we can to try and prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.

The reality of it though, as far as I can tell, is that no matter what we do there will still be countless surprises and uncertainty throughout the process. However, I know that this is what our Heavenly Father wants us to do, so I know that it will work out.

Thank you for the love and support.
