Tucker 125th Anniversary - Charcoal T-shirt

Tucker Celebrated our 125th Anniversary!

In June of 1892, the Tucker Post Office opened its doors for the first time. This is generally considered to be the date that Tucker was founded. To celebrate Tucker’s 125th Anniversary, the Friends of Tucker Parks, Tucker Historical Society and Tucker Optimist Club hosted a celebration at the Tucker Recreation Center on June 24th, 2017.

The celebration featured live music by Tucker native Matthew Perryman Jones as well as music by Molly Parden, and Smokerise, a photography exhibit and contest hosted by “Tucker Clicks” and Hunt Digital Imaging, several food trucks, an eating contest sponsored by Local No. 7, a quilt show and a bouncy house. The U.S. Postal Service was also on site with a one-day-only commemorative anniversary pictorial postmark and a Tucker-themed postcard was also available.
