About this campaign

I wrote a Dragnet-inspired police procedural to discover who pushed Humpty Dumpty. This fantastic art created by Eric Hamilton never made it into the book, so we're creating a limited number of Tees for sale which will help support our project.

I'm super excited! I wrote True Crimes from Rhymes Square years ago but never found someone to bring it to life until I met artist Eric Hamilton. Now, with your support, we can make it a reality.
The story follows detective Friday’s Child and partner September (the horse) as they attempt to crack the case of who pushed Humpty Dumpty. During their investigation they question the denizens of The Big Nursery, all recognizable characters from Mother Goose Tales. Kids will have fun following the procedural investigation (gathering clues, weighing evidence, asking questions of familiar characters) while adults will enjoy reading it for its 1940’s/1950’s noir, steampunk style. This is truly an out-of-the ordinary-picture book that brings together many concepts including a reimagining of the diversity of these classic characters and that perseverance and hard work will ultimately pay off despite setbacks and red herrings.
Booster funds will also be used to pay Eric to produce the visuals for the collector’s editions and for the publishers to see the potential of a fully realized book we would like to ultimately bring to a larger, nationally distributed edition. The works in this collector’s edition include some completely finished paintings, final sketches and rough concept drawings to bring the story to life. Other funds go to the production team that organized and designed the layout of the truly special edition of True Crimes from Rhymes Square.
