About this campaign

In 2008 Roberto and Carla Marroquin began raising funds for friends who were working to rescue victims of sex-trafficking.  They saw the low rate of rescue, high risk and recidivism, in addition to the agonizing struggle each survivor endured because of severe trauma.  As they continued to support rescue efforts, the Marroquíns felt directed to the opposite end of the spectrum:  prevention.  The Protect Me Project was born to "get there before the trafficker."
