Team Timothy

Tim was first diagnosed with a brain tumor back in 2009 and he was having episodes of passing out. The episodes slowly decreased and he went back to work. In 2012 the symptoms came back, only this time the passing out episodes made his heart stop altogether to the point where they had to shock him back. Its called Vaso-vagal syncope. He was then told that he would have to have a pacemaker put in to make his heart not stop. After this surgery, it seemed to be better, his heart has been fine. In Dec. of 2013 he began having memory and some visual issues. They went to the ER who recommended a CT scan. From this, they determined that the brain tumor had more than doubled in size over the last 2 years. If it keeps growing at this rate, it will take over parts of the brain controlling memory and vision. Doctors recommend that it is time to take out the tumor, which, because of the size, cannot be done through gamma knife or radiation alone. It is about 4.5 cm in diameter. He will have to have part of his skull removed and the tumor removed surgically. There is much recovery time for this type of surgery.
