About this campaign

Officer Thomas LaValley, a member of the Shreveport, Louisiana, Police Department, was tragically killed in the line of duty August 5th, 2015.  His story has been broadcast nationally, and his killer is in custody.  Please keep Officer LaValley and his family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Thomas was born on December 19, 1985 in Baton Rouge, LA and was killed in the line of duty serving the citizens of Shreveport, LA on August 5, 2015. He was a 2003 graduate of St. Amant High School and was a member of the wrestling team. He graduated from Northwestern State University and started working at KTBS Channel 3 as a videographer. He went to the Shreveport Police Academy and graduated at the top of his class. He proudly served on the Shreveport Police Department for 4 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. His cat "Drew" was named for his favorite Saint.

Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eddie Paul LeBeau, and paternal grandparents, Lillian and Thomas Joseph LaValley. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Jacqueline Ann LeBeau; father, Joseph Thomas LaValley; brother, Alexander Paul LaValley; sisters, Kimberly Bessa and her husband, Tyler, and Andrea Anderson and her husband, Kevin; maternal grandmother, Helen B. LeBeau; niece, Emily Bessa; nephews, Tyler, Caleb and Joshua Bessa, also numerous aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and special friends, Randy Aucoin, Mitch Johnston and Dustin Booker.

Honoring Officer LaValley as pallbearers will be the honor guards from law enforcement agencies. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Shreveport Police Department.

The family would like to express their deepest and most sincere thanks to all law enforcement agencies for their help and assistance during this difficult time.
