Our newly-formed 501(c)3 organization, This Is My Brave, Inc., is starting with our debut performance of This Is My Brave - the show on May 18, 2014 at Artisphere's Spectrum Theatre in Arlington. But this is just the beginning. The start-up costs for our non-profit are sizeable, including legal and tax services and administrative expenses. With your financial support from this fundraiser and future fundraising events {both online and live} we will have the capability to continue to expand on our mission through community programming and social media outreach. A major goal of ours for this summer is to put together a smaller version of our live show coupled with mental health awareness information for high schools in our area to be hopefully implemented this fall. And we've got lots of other mental health awareness ideas up our sleeves, but we won't be able to implement them without funding.


This Is My Brave provides a community and platform for people living with mental illness to speak out in an effort to end the stigma associated with brain illnesses. Our mission is to ignite and actively promote―through actions and social media― a positive, supportive national conversation about mental illness for those who live with, or love someone who lives with, a brain illness. Through the sharing of stories and experiences of those in recovery, we will create a community of hope; and encourage others to share their stories. We believe that each time one of us shares our story, there’s another crack helping to break down the stigma of mental illness. It’s time to be brave and bring mental health issues into the spotlight because they’ve been in the dark too long.
