About this campaign

The Holy Hip Hop Hour is expanding to more television stations. As we expand into more territory, the costs to be added to more stations are increasing. We are asking for your help in expanding to more stations so that we can win more souls and impact more lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ! By purchasing a t-shirt, 100% of the net proceeds will go towards expanding onto more television stations. We are currently looking to expand on public access in Atlanta, Georgia and Waterbury, Connecticut. The Atlanta public access station will cost about $700/year. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

The Holy Hip Hop Hour is a christian hip hop television show that features the latest christian hip hop music videos with occasional interviews hosted by John the Baptist. In 2005, John the Baptist was passing out street evangelism christian hip hop cds in the streets of New Haven, CT. One day after he finished passing out his cds on the streets, a friend of his told him that people connect with what they see. His friend (who was not a believer) recommended that he go on public access television to reach more people. John completed the necessary courses at Citizens Television (CTV) and became certified as a television producer in 2005. For the next year and a half, John emailed and talked over the phone with various christian hip hop artists and record labels while volunteering on several other producers' public access television shows.

After a year and a half of testing to see if the vision was real, in the summer of 2007 John finally had enough music videos to begin airing The Holy Hip Hop Hour. We started airing July 2007 on Citizens Television (CTV) Comcast Cable Ch. 27, a public access station that serves the New Haven, West Haven, and Hamden, CT communities. In September 2007 we expanded to our 2nd station Hartford Public Access Television (HPAT) which serves the Hartford, CT community. After serving the New Haven and Hartford area faithfully for a few years, God placed it on John the Baptist's heart to expand the show into more territories. In January 2012 The Holy Hip Hop Hour expanded onto its 3rd and 4th television stations. In Boston, MA on the Boston Neighborhood Network (BNN)
Comcast Cable Ch. 23 and RCN Cable Ch. 83 which serves the greater Boston area. As well as Sound View TV Comcast Cable Ch. 77 and Optimum Cable Ch. 88 which serves the cities of Bridgeport, Stratford, Fairfield, Milford, Orange and Woodbridge, CT.

In January 2015, God placed it on John the Baptist's heart to expand into more territory yet again. The Holy Hip Hop Hour then expanded onto its 5th and 6th television stations. Public Access TV (PATV15) Cox Cable Ch. 15 in Cheshire, Meriden and Southington, CT. And East Haven Public Access Comcast Cable Ch. 18 in East Haven, CT.

In August 2016, John the Baptist was asked by a pastor to bring The Holy Hip Hop Hour to New London, CT. On August 20, 2016 The Holy Hip Hop Hour began airing on its 7th television station Atlantic Broadband Community Access Ch. 24, which serves New London, Waterford, Danielson, East Lyme, Griswold, Killingly, Montville, Plainfield, Putnam and Sterling, CT.

Over the years The Holy Hip Hop Hour has also been airing online at www.johnthebap.com, on YouTube and various christian hip hop sites. We have even been played on tour buses in Africa! It has been a tremendous blessing to hear many testimonies from people all over the world coming to Christ and how our show has greatly impacted their walk with the Lord!
