About this campaign
What is The Hare Ball?? The Hare Ball puts the FUN in FUNdraiser.
It is also the single largest fundraiser held annually benefiting The Georgia
House Rabbit Society. The Hare Ball is strictly for those 21 and up; however,
werealized thateven those that aren’t old enough to attend The Hare Ball will
still love the chance to support us through purchasing one of our
adorable official “Love is in the Hare” t-shirts! The shirts will also feature our corporate sponsors so that we can recognize them properly for everything they do for our bunnies! This year, we have3 color t-shirts
available (black, charcoal, or red), so pick your favorite color, select a size, and then cherish the
thought every time you wear it that YOU, yes YOU, helped save bunnies!!
Celebrate our second annual Hare Ball by purchasing a limited edition t-shirt of your own! We'll have a limited number of shirts available at the Hare Ball, but if you order now, you'll get the color you want in the size you want for a discounted price!
We areTHE ONLY licensedrabbit specific rescue in the state of
Georgia. There are only a HANDFUL OF RESCUES LIKE US IN THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. We
are helping to bring the struggle of the third most popular companion animal to
the attention of thousands of concerned animal lovers all over the world. Our
Facebook following is growing daily as the awareness of our organization’s importance grows. Because of our
very dedicated and active followers, we are able to take in rabbits in the
most dire of circumstances and cover continued housing and medical expenses for
the approximately 150 rabbits in our care at any given time.
Sadly, last year alone, we had to turn away over 500
intake requests from owners who no longer wanted their rabbits simplybecause we
lacked the space to take them in. 500. Where did they go? Suffering from the same
overpopulation, irresponsible breeding, and “puppy-mill” environments, rabbits
also suffer at the hands of poorly informed owners who give in to “impulse
buys” at pet stores, not even knowing how to meet their new pet’s basic needs.
Because of this, they are frequently “released into the wild” to fend for
themselves. However, these are not wild animals and they are not "disposable pets"…these are domesticated,
human-dependent animals that lack the ability to adjust to life on their own.
Without intervention, they will live short, sad lives, leaving this world
without ever knowing wh it's like tobe truly loved as part of a family.
Only withyour amazing supportcanwe receive the critical funds needed to grow our
current House Rabbit Center and be able to save HUNDREDS ofmore lives annually. As of 2016, we are beyond ecstatic to report that since our inception in 1996, we havrescued over 300 abandoned, neglected, abused, and surrendered rabbits. In 2015 alone, approximately 300 rabbits were saved through our organization! But we want to do more…we want to save more…we want to have the chance to save HUNDREDS more of these special souls EVERY YEAR here in Georgia. In order for us to have the ability to save more bunnies, it comes down to the simple fact...we need MORE SPACE! We have to EXPAND! Plans are already underway but we desperately need your help now more than ever so that we can make this dream a reality! We absolutely cannot do it without you! Our “Love is in the Hare” t-shirt was created for this year’s Hare Ball but we hope to prove that love is in the HARE all year long! Weneed aHUGE turnout for our second annual Hare Ball on September 24, 2016! We want to see you there and show usthat "Love is in the Hare!"
