Team Tucker

Tucker is a 4.5 year old boy, who is always smiling and making everyone he knows laugh. Once you meet him you can't forget him. Though he is all smiles, behind that sweet smile is a sweet boy who has faced so much pain and surgeries already at suc a young age. Tucker was born at 32 weeks weighing 4.9oz. Tucker was born with a cleft palate meaning he did not have a roof to his mouth. Feeding was a struggle and a constant scare. However he is a fighter and at the age of 1.5 years he was able to get his palate repaired. It was a very tough procedure but he came through it like a champ. After 6 to 8 weeks of feed with a sirnge and having his arms in braces he came out stronger than ever. About the age of 3 years old the doctors and I realized that there was a lot of delays in Tucker's growth. He was not meeting certain milestones. Soon after we realized that Tucker has High Functioning Autism. Though it was a lot to take in there was nothing stopping this little man. Through the age of birth till now Tuck had faced 7 surgeries. He has many more he is facing and everytime we seem to see a doctor we find out something more. Tucker had started having seizures and now is undergoing several test. He has another surgery for his ears because he has continued to fail his hearing test. The lastest diagnosis is that even though Tucker is growing his mandible is not, which means there is no room for his teeth. This surgery will require several surgeries leading up to 1 where are they will remove the top part of his bone below his nose and put a spacer there as well as the back parts of his jaw. The therapy and medical expenses are overwhelming and this is why we are selling shirts to not only help this sweet innocent child raised money for the medical that he needs.
