About this campaign
Cystic Fibrosis is a devastating disease that affects the lungs, digestive, and reproductive tract. There are nearly 30,000 people in the United States alone that are afflicted with this disease. For the first time there is nearly as many adults as there are children with the disease. This is hugely monumental because CF used to be considered a "child's" disease and most passed away before reaching school age. This great accomplishment comes at a price. The government does not fund research for Cystic Fibrosis. A cure can only come through donations made by people like you.
We found out we were pregnant Thanksgiving Day 2014. We were nervous but extremely excited to become parents. About halfway through our pregnancy we found out that Sebastian may have Cystic Fibrosis, and it was later confirmed before he was born. We only knew a little bit about CF at the time, but we began educating ourselves as much as we could on the disease. Despite CF, Sebastian is absolutely perfect. It takes a lot of work to keep him healthy. Loads of medications, treatments, and therapies are a daily part of our life now. Sebastian needs a cure. He needs to be able to live a life unrestricted from drugs and therapy. We need the CFF to keep searching for this cure, which means they need donations.
