About this campaign

Karter passed away this morning. May his little soul rest in peace. He will always be remembered for his strength. Love you sweet little boy!

Karter James Lucas 6/14/14 - 7/11/14

Karter James is a Micro Preemie born at just 22 weeks 3 days gestation. He's a little fighter but he has a long road ahead of him! Please purchase a shirt for just $22 to help pay for the medical bills of this sweet little miracle!

Karter James Lucas was conceived after a 7-year long battle with infertility. His conception was a true miracle! His mother, Kristin, had a normal pregnancy until around 19 weeks, when she was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labor and possible bag rupture. At almost 20 weeks, the doctors discovered that Karter's legs were sticking into Kristin's cervix. So she laid in her hospital bed, virtually upside down, for over a week to keep her little man in the womb. On June 14th, 2014 at 4am, Kristin started having contractions and heavy bleeding. At 9:50am, only 22 weeks 3 days gestation, Karter James was born into this world, weighing just under 1 pound (14oz). He came out feet first and was breathing on his own! They were able to intubate him, and he is now in stable condition in the NICU. Karter has a long road ahead of him, but continues to prove that he is a strong little fighter. He continues to amaze all of the doctors and medical staff, as they never imagined that he would have survived being born this early. He is truly a miracle! We have set up this page so that you can help us pray for Karter James and his family while they are on their journey from the NICU to their home. Please feel free to post positive, uplifting messages to Kristin & Jason. We will continue to update the page with Karter's daily progress, changes, pictures, and videos. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support for this precious miracle and his family. :-)https://www.facebook.com/groups/245993765601671/

I also went through fertility treatment which resulted in twins. Unfortunately we lost one of them shortly after birth and the other was born a preemie and spent some time in nicu. Praying for the family.

Kristin has been an inspiration for me with her struggle with PCOS. Through all of the trials, the procedures, the naysayers and her own personal doubt, she conceived. Karter is forever a part of her life and the lives of those she is connected to.
