About this campaign

Help our little hero, Kaden, fight his fight against Leukemia by helping make sure that he is able to get the medical treatment he needs.

Kaden, is a sweet, witty, and inquisitiveyoung manwho entered the battle of his life on Jan. 26, 2015, when he was rushed to the local hospital as hewrithed in pain. The slightest touch to try to comfort him only caused him to cry out more. The already present fear solidified when the doctorsexplained to us thatKaden had to be transferred to a more equipped hospital because they didn't have the means to treat him. Once we arrived the team of doctors and nursesthat had been waiting for us began drawingblood for labs and once doneadministered morphine to Kaden. He finally had some relief. We knew it had to be serious but we prayed and hoped that it was just an over reaction, but it wasn't. The diagnosis was High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Leukemia is a cancer of the bone marrow and blood and the term "acute" indicates that it is fast acting. The pain he was feeling was pressure from the inside of the bone morrow. His white cells were 95% full of leukemia causing them to swell and push against the bones from the inside out. The battle to save Kaden had just begun. The doctors immediately began chemo and explained to us that he will be under going varying levels of treatments for the next 3 years. Unfortunately, on day 29, Kadenwas moved up the severity scale for this disease and is nowcategorized as Very High Risk, which the highest level. His cancer has been resistant to the treatment and more aggressive than anticipated... meaning more chemo and a longer treatment plan. He currently spends 4 days a week at the hospital for spinal taps, and chemo; and visits the ER on average 2-3 days a week to receive antibioticswhen he runs fevers. In the face of all of this, the constant pain, and unfathomable time spent at the hospital, the news that his cancer wasn't responding as anticipated, he still hasn't doubted that he willwin this battleand we are also confident that he will. His courage and strength, as with all those going through this, has been inspiring to us and helped with our fears. But the key to success in his treatment is receiving his treatments as scheduled. A few days before his first diagnosis, his father received word that he was being let go from his company due to lay offs. That is why we are asking for your help. We need to make sure thatthere are never any lapses in his insurance coverage that could result ina lapse in treatment. Please help us ensure that Kaden has what he needs to win this fight! All proceeds and donations will go towards making sure that there is no lapse in his insurance coverage and thus, no lapse in treatment; as well as other medical expenses. Please share this and other stories to raise awareness and help all of the children fighting this terrible disease. Thank you in advance for any support and for the prayers that are continually sent up forour little hero.
