About this campaign

Haiden was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Infantile Fibrosarcoma. This fundraiser is to help with living expenses such as food and gas for Chris and Lauren while they are away from home. They are atCincinnati Children's Hospital.

Update: May 8, 2014, Lauren posted this. Yay!! Haiden's pet scan on the right is from almost a month ago and on theone on the left was today's!! Basically, a pet scan shows where the body is using sugar and compared to black on the rightand light grey on the left the chemo is working to kill the tumor. - :) feeling excited.

This is great news, the chemo is killing the tumor and it is shrinking down. The more it shrinks the greater chance the surgery will be a success for Baby Haiden to come through this and live a happy normal life!!
IMG_17209634529385jpegUpdate as of May 6, 2014.Haiden has completed 2 rounds of chemotherapy and the tumor has shrunk 4.5 cm.It originally measured at 22 cm and is now down to17.5 cm.They will continue to do chemotherapy until the tumor is no longer shrinking. Once it has stopped shrinking, they will then decide on when to perform the surgery to remove what is left.

Baby Haiden was born January 27, 2014. At the time of her birth something unusual was noticed on her left shoulder and arm. It was thought to be Hemangioma. As the weeks passed, and many doctors’ appointments later, the tumor began to grow. On March 9, 2014, Baby Haiden was taken to East Tennessee Children's Hospital due to the ulceration on the tumor. She was admitted and spent 2 1/2 weeks there until her doctor decided that he was not equipped for this. He had already begun consulting with a doctor in Cincinnati. On March 26, 2014, Baby Haiden and her mother were flown to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital. The next day they performed a biopsy on the tumor and began testing. Test after test was performed and each time it came back negative. On April 7, 2014, Baby Haiden was diagnosed with Infantile Fibrosarcoma; this is a very rare cancer. She began treatments the next day. The treatments they have started are 4 rounds of chemotherapy, 20 days between each round. Each time she will have a pet scan and once a month an MRI. This will take 3 months. Once they have shrunk the tumor, they will surgically remove what is left. With strong beliefs and lots of prayers, we are hoping that this treatment is successful. If not, they may have to amputate her left shoulder and arm. Mom and Dad are needed during this time, not only for her, but for each other. Together, they can draw strength from each other while she battles this unfair rare cancer. Being in this situation is scary, but being new parents and so far away from home and family support makes it that much worse. Our goal is to sell as many shirts as possible, not only to help support them while they're away from home but also to raise awareness of the multitude of rare cancers that people face every day. Cancer knows no age limit!! On behalf of all of Baby Haiden's family, we want to take this moment to thank you for your support and generosity!
