About this campaign

Fighting cancer is a physical and emotional battle. So is supporting the fight. But you can help by becoming part of the Team. Become a Warrior and wear your Team Emma T-Shirt to show your support during the Month of May - Brain Cancer Awareness Month.

One week after Emma's 12th birthday, she had a Malignant Giant Cell Glioblastoma brain tumor resected by Dr. Goldman of Columbus, Ga. Emma was recommended for radiation and chemotherapy treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shortly after her resection surgery.

After more than 4 years of clean MRI's Emma's original resection (brain tumor) site showed cystic regrowth in July 2013. As you can imagine that was not the news we were anticipating.

Emma's primary Neuro-Oncologist at St. Jude recommended immediate resection. Emma had a second, smaller brain tumor removed Aug. 7th, 2013 at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Seven months have passed since her brain surgery in August; we saw Emma's oldest sister off to school abroad, Em went back to high school as a Junior, we went to football games, dressed up for Halloween, ate Thanksgiving dinner, enjoyed Christmas and celebrated Em's seventeenth birthday, rang in a New Year and celebrated a Sweet Valentine's Day.

As spring approaches and the winter winds recede we are again called to battle. For the enemy is stealthy and always near. MRI scans discovered cystic regrowth on Emma's regularly scheduled March 2014 visit. Surgery is not an option this time although radiation and a phase two chemotherapy trial are available. So Emma is now in radiation therapy and fighting like the Warrior she is!

With the love and support of many we again fight brain cancer. Standing strong, hopeful, and joyfully courageous!
