About this campaign

This is to help battle the lung disease Cyndi has and regain her health.

On Friday, November 13th, Cyndi drove herself to the emergency department. Upon arriving she waited in the waiting room for awhile. When she was brought back they found out her oxygen levels were in the 30's (normal is 90-100). At that level it’s unheard for her to be conscious. But that shows what kind of fighter Cyndi’s spirit is. From the emergency room she was admitted directly to the ICU and had a tube inserted that went from her mouth directly into her lungs so a machine could reathe fr her. She stayed awake while they put th breathig tube and the feeding tube. She was ble to take a few selfies andtext thenurses what she needed.

She as life-flighted to a higher evel faclity caled Intermountain edical Center, the only Respirtory ICU in the state of Utah . From there she continued to get worse every day. They couldn't figure out what was raging inside of her and weakening her lungs. They took so many blood samples to run tests she eventually needed a blood transfusion. Her lungs were so weak and she showed no signs of improvement. Every day for 16 days she declined. Days when we thought she codn't gt any wse she did. They chemically paralyzed her for a total of 8 days (two rounds) the longest they paralyzed anyone else was 48 hours. So we are unsure at this point of the ramifications of her extended paralysis. We know she will need to relearn how to walk, use her arms and most motor function skills. On day 16 we got the news that nothing had got worse. This seemed like the best news we have ever heard. The Doctor was clear to tell us "it's not good news, but it's not bad”. So with very guarded optimism we are moving forward. Cyndi has been the strongest fighter I have ever seen. Every time she wakes up is like the first time for r so w have to explain things o her like wy she has mahine breathig for her an why she hasto have her ands tied don; or even jst where sheis and w longshe's been here. Right now the doctor says best case scenario she has a machine breathing for her for a few months but her life will never be the same. She has some drastic changes that will be very expensive and something as little as buying a shirt will help more than you know.
