About this campaign
Check out the Spring colors that feature the TROT logo in white! Our goal is to sell 50 t-shirts and raise $447 which will be used to pay for the care of the horses in the program. The more shirts that are sold, the more money will be raised for the horses and TROT!
Thoroughbred Retirement of Tampa, Inc. (aka TROT) started in May 2009 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is the official aftercare program for Tampa Bay Downs. It offers a safe retirement from racing option where the horses get some down time and basic retraining before they are re-homed. The organization follows up with the adopters to ensure both the adopter and the horse are doing well. The organization will also take an adopted horse back should the adopter not be able to care for the horse as long as there is available space in the program. All funds raised will be used to care for the horses currently in the program.
Since its inception, TROT has taken 56 horses into the program and 40 have been re-homed.
The photos feature one of TROT's alumni - Promenades Hero. The photo on the left is him winning at Laurel Park on October 16, 2009. He was adopted in September 2012 and is doing fantastic with his new mom Kiya (center and right photos).
