Skinner Family Adoption Fundraiser

When we began the adoption process in February of 2013, we had no idea the journey the Lord would take us on (you can see our timeline with links to blog posts, here). There were many times we began to feel like our story was ending, or at least slowing, but at an adoption conference we heard an adoptive mother and missionary share a quote her family lives by -- "The story isn't over yet." And it wasn't, and it isn't.

Even in times of doubt -- issuance of exit letters from DRC being suspended, adoption reform in DRC, a surprise pregnancy and change of path -- our story wasn't over. The Lord was still working on it and in it.

Philippians 1:6 reads -- "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." What an incredible promise that we have from the Lord! That it is He who began the good works within you and your life and He promises to see them to completion. This has been so true in this journey and we know it will continue to be in our lives.

We pray that wherever you are in your life -- a valley or a mountain top, your best days or your worst -- that you realize your story isn't over yet and that God has remarkable plans for you.
