About this campaign

Many of you know, last year we lost sweet Luna Martell. Now, a 2nd tragedy, her brother, Simran, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and has had surgery to remove it. We are raising money to assist the Martell family with medical and loss of work expenses. Thank you so much for your help!

IMG_1268PNGpngIMG_1266PNGpngSim is doing great and had his first 1/2 day back at school! (all of March 6th week) I heard some still wanted to get shirts so we are reopening a booster to keep on ordering!

Wow! So far we have raised over $14,000! With all of the tshirts, donations, the Hunton #itscoolertogive fundraiser and Mooyah's generous fundraiser, we have passed our goal! Everything after $12,000 will go towards Heidi's lost wages, as she stays at home to take care of Simran. She doesn't get paid if she doesn't work, and Sim will only be going back to school part time as he recovers. She has missed many weeks of work and will be needing to get surgery of her own soon. Our community has banded together and covered all of their medical expenses for the year! Bless everyone who has contributed and/or prayed for them. Sim's tumor was completely removed and it was benign!!!! Thank you so much! He will have a follow up MRI in 3 months to confirm that the tumor is stil gone and all is well. **************

The Martell family had the devastating loss of their daughter, Luna, last year. Less than a year later, they discovered that their fourth-grade son, Simran, has a tumor in his brain and will need to have it removed. (towards the end of February) They will do a biopsy at that time, to find out details on the tumor (benign or malignant) and future treatment of Simran. They will have travel expenses and have already traveled several times as well. This will be very expensive, and his mother, Heidi, will be taking off a significant amount of time from work, as Sim's recovery will take many weeks. Once he returns to school, it will only be part time until he regains his endurance. It will be a long process for their family. Heidi also needs some costly and time-consuming medical care herself, including the likelihood of THREE surgeries, which she is putting off in order to take care of her son, as mothers do. <3

We are trying to raise a minimum for 12,000 to cover medical expenses. (and then anything on top of that would help with loss of work while Heidi is out taking care of Simran) The family is going to just focus on taking care of Sim and I am hoping our community can handle this burden for them. You all are wonderful and I am amazed at the progress we have already made! Thank you so much!

There is going to be a fundraiser put on by Mooyah to support the Martell Family on Thursday, March 9 from 11 AM to 10 PM so please mark your calendars!

This family is needing lots of love, support, compassion, assistance and prayers from our community. I am asking you all to please put it on your heart to do all that you can to help this precious family, as they are all wonderful, caring souls. No parent should have to deal with a brain tumor, especially after the loss of a child. Their names are Jonathan, Heidi, and their boys are Haruki, Leta, Amrit, Simran and Prem- please pray for them by name. The children are brilliant and their personalities shine like stars. Both parents would do anything for their children- that is evident in all that they do. I am so blessed to know them. I thank you!

There will be an adult unisex cotton shirt, child shirt, and a soft triblend unisex style (identical to the Hays PTA shirts this year!) to choose from. The more shirts we sell, the higher the profit is for the family.
