About this campaign
YWCA Rock County Walk a Mile in Her Shoes began in 2006 as an advocacy event to raise awareness of sexual violence issues in our community. While fun, it was also a powerful way to get men and boys involved in being part of the solution.
A simple concept: ask men to wear high-heeled shoes and walk a mile in
them. That's all it took and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes was born. The
first year we had a handful of walkers. Last year we had nearly 200 who
turned an advocacy event into one that also raised revenue for the YW
and victims of sexual violence. This year? Help us reach our goal of 300
participants and just watch what we can do together - one step at a
time!
