Sarcasm VS Sarcoma

My husband has never entered the boxing ring professionally... but right now he is in the fight for his life.

Carlos is a loving companion to me, a kind Daddy to our two children, and a generous Deacon at our church. Those who know him well know his knack for using sarcasm to humor others... in fact, his profile pic on social media is a smirk face! Our family life has had its trials, including our son's diagnosis of autism in 2007 and our daughter's near-death experience with lead poisoning in 2008. Through it all, my husband has stood strong as the man of the household and was the steady provider of income for us.

In 2012, this stand was compromised. He was diagnosed with Synovial sarcoma - a cancer that began in his ankle. He underwent four rounds of chemotherapy that weakened his body and, at times, his spirit. After enduring chemotherapy, Carlos still needed a right below-the-knee amputation. Despite his own emotional turmoil over this experience, Carlos was determined to remain a source of inspiration for his loved ones. He fought through months of rehab, finally able to stand again with a prosthesis. He returned to his job as an A/V Tech at Dyventive Inc., and received the title of "Employee of the Quarter" for his diligent work.

Now that sarcoma has returned as an even bigger threat, we have no idea what the future will hold. My husband has designed these shirts in hopes to raise money for our upcoming medical expenses, and assurance that our children will be cared for as he again undergoes surgery and chemotherapy.
