Team Run In Beauty is a team of several Native American Women. We will be
competing in the 2014 Las Vegas Ragnar Relay on November 7-8th. Please purchase a
T-shirt to show your support and to help us spread the word of Native
strength.
As Native women distance runners, running is not only our
way of exercising and staying healthy - it is a part of our culture.
Many of us were raised on the Navajo and Hopi reservations where we ran
to continue our traditions and to bring pride to our people. Every
member of our Ragnar team has applied the values and lessons learned
through running to achieve other life goals. As adults, we run for our
health, to set a good example for our children and families, to pray, to
alleviate stress, and to continue our Native traditions. We chose the
team name “Run in Beauty” to encourage others to strive to live a
healthy, well-balanced life. This means nurturing ourselves and our
families physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Team Run in Beauty, has just completed the 2014 So Cal Ragnar Relay on April 4 & 5th. Out of 724 teams we place 375th and in the Regular Women's Open division there were 52 teams and we place 16th!
We are continuing to raise money for our next Ragnar Relay in Las Vegas which will be held November 7-8th. We will be entering in two teams this time, one regular full team of 12 and an ultra team of 6.
We want to thank everyone for their show of support and continued words of encouragement. We run for our people, family, friends and for those who are no longer with us.
We encourage you to stay healthy and active.
Thank You!
