Session Components
Our goal with our sessions is to show kids HOPE, LOVE and ENCOURAGEMENT. We are not here to teach lessons or act as a boarding facility. Our sessions can be customized to assist in individual cases, however, we do try and stick to the following components:
Chores: Achild and their leader will pair together to complete a small chore at the beginning of the session. We hope this encourages and teaches the child theimportance of serving others and empowers themin knowing that their hard work and efforts can make a difference to those around them. This time also helps us to understandeach child and gain perspective for the best use of time to follow. Working with horses: The majority of children who will come to the farmare drawn because of the horses. We will teach themto correctly handle, groom and ride in a round penduring their sessions. Again, each session depends on the needs of the child and of the horse on any given day. Farm Animals:Sometimes horses are not a kiddos thing and they would rather go see the chickens, pet the piglets or just run around! Crafts: For those who do not wish to spend time riding horses, we have other options for the child and leader to work on! Play: Often, the most valuable time in a child’s life is PLAYING!! Many times we may have a session all planned out..and the children choose to spend their entire session playing games...and that's ok! ​​Sessions can include one or many of the above components, or sometimes something entirely unique. Together, the leader and child decide the best session plan for the day. Session leaders do their best to listen and creatively respond by using the resources of the ranch to support and encourage children in need.
