About this campaign
LEAD is an organizationthat builds youth leadership and equitable communities. We are launching LEAD YouthBuild in the LA community of Lincoln Heights where we willempower young people ages 18-24to change their lives, families, and communities.
Founder Ely Flores grew up in Los Angeles California. As teen Ely faced incarceration and was kicked out of several high schools. Eventually, Ely found LA CAUSA YouthBuild, a youth development program that would give him the tools and strategies to change his life.
Forward to today, Ely has gone on to work in the youth development field on the local, national, and internationally level. In California, he is a solar and renewable energy leader with GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles. In 2010, he found the non-profit organization LEAD. Ely graduated college with a BA in Organizational Management.
He is now fulfilling his dream of giving other young people the opportunity to changetheir lives,their families, andtheir communities through LEAD YouthBuild.
