About this campaign

Ronnie was born a preemie in 1970 and diagnosed with renal reflux. By the time he was 18, he had lost the function in his left kidney. At 31, he was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure. He began dialysis treatments in the summer of 2002. Since early 2014, he had suffered three strokes, and at least four heart attacks. His health is deteriorating rapidly, and the doctors are giving no options for a cure or treatment to improve his quality of life. We are working with a facility outside the US to coordinate treatment through stem cell re-generation; they have successfully treated these illnesses for several years.  It's our last hope for his survival.

Ronnie was born a preemie at 35 weeks; he was diagnosed with renal reflux.  He lived almost two decades without the knowledge of this diagnosis.  All the while, his bladder was backing up into his kidneys and burning them from the inside out.  By the time he was 18 years old he had already lost the function in left kidney.  At age 31, he was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF).  He received his arterial-venous fistula in June, 2002 and began dialysis treatments that same summer.  Ronnie is the father of twin boys (17), and a daughter (19), and has step-son (18).  On June 3, 2014, Ronnie's birthday, he recieved the ultimate gift; his daughter gave birth to a beautiful little girl that has stolen his weak heart.  She truly is the apple of his eye!

He has been married to me since November 2003.  Ronnie's passion has always been cars and... yes, speed; until recently, he spent a lot of time at a speedshop/garage in South St. Louis County and has volunteered with the Backstoppers's dirt track race team.

Ronnie is now 44 years old.  Since 2014, he has suffered from three strokes, and at least four heart attacks.  This reduces his candidacy for transplant of either kidney or a heart.  His health is deteriorating rapidly, and the doctors are not giving any options for a cure or treatment in the US that will improve his quality of life.  After much research, his mother found the BioRegeneration Integrated Medical Centre in Jamaica; where their specialty is stem cell research.  The Centre is offering Ronnie an alternative to ultimate death in the near future through stem cell organ regeneration.  The procedure requires multiple trips to the facility and painful extraction of cells.

Myself, as Ronnie's wife, had a career in the logistics field but was affected by the recent recession.  Although I still work as a contractor in my field, we are deep in debt with already existing medical bills.

Time is of the essence, and as Ronnie's wife, I beg that you hear this story with your heart and feel the suffering our family faces watching him slip away.  If you can donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated as the procedure is an expensive one, requiring several doctor visits and surgeries.

Our whole family is thankful for your consideration and donation to our cause.

I am supporting Rebels for Ronnie because Ronnie is my husband. He is a caring man who loves his children and granddaughter very much. He gives everything he has even when he really shouldn't because of his health issues. I love you, Ronnie!
