Ray's Road to Recovery

Raymond & Lynn Genusa are a very hardworking couple who live every day to the fullest. Raymond always strives to achieve bigger & better things for him and his family. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren whom they'd do anything for! The two have had numerous adventures and have overcome many hardships together, but nothing could have prepared them for what came on the afternoon of January 27, 2015. Raymond was riding his motorcycle down a one way street in Hammond, when a gentleman, not familiar with the area, attempted to make an left hand turn from the right lane striking Raymond's right side, sending him and his bike on a 30 foot skid across the intersection. Raymond broke both his fibula & tibia, requiring two surgeries, a permanent metal plate being placed in his leg and several months of recovery. After his surgery he was diagnosed and treated for cellulitis, an infection of the tissues caused by bacteria getting into broken skin. The hospital bills have now become a huge financial burden as Raymond cannot put weight on his leg and cannot work during that time.
