About our designer: Ray Rice

Ray Rice

Drafted in the second round (55th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Ray Rice is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and a 2013 Super Bowl Champion.

Born on January 22, 1987 in New Rochelle, New York, Ray is the youngest of four children. A star on his high school football and basketball teams, Ray went on to play for Rutgers University, leading the school to its first winning season in 15 years during his freshman year.

With the Ravens, Ray has become a fan favorite and key part of the team’s offense, being named to the AFC Pro Bowl team in 2009, 2011 and 2012. He is the second leading rusher in Raven’s history, and is the first player in the franchise’s history to rush for 1,000 yards in four-consecutive seasons. Ray has also completed 41 games with at least 100 total yards from scrimmage during his six year career.

Off the field, Ray has become an important role model for youth in the Baltimore and New Rochelle communities. For several years, Ray has been a strong advocate for bullying prevention. His campaign, “A Ray of Hope,” targets children and parents in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC region, and promotes kindness in an effort to end bullying. In addition to his bullying prevention efforts, Ray also holds annual “Ray Rice Days” which teach football fundamentals to youth players, works with children with developmental and physical disabilities and volunteers at local homeless shelters.
