The four-legged members of Eagle Valley Search Dogs need your
help! We are a Search & Rescue team dedicated to helping
the families of the lost & missing.

Eagle Valley Search Dogs is a non-profit, volunteer Search & Rescue K-9 team based in the Catskill Mountains and the Upper Delaware River Valley of upstate New York. Our team has 11 K-9 handlers with 14 operational Search & Rescue K-9s and 8 K-9s who are in training. We conduct searches at the request of law enforcement, fire departments, and other official agencies - to help locate lost and missing individuals.
Our canine members came into our lives as itty-bitty puppies, some from
breeders & some through rescue organizations. They are all
puppies with great purpose and on a mission to help their
communities.
Each pup undergoes roughly two years of
rigorous training until they can 'certify' and be fielded as an
operational Search & Rescue Dog.
Once a K-9 is operational, the work has
only begun! Each K-9 & handler spe s hundreds of hours a year
training & attending seminars to maintain the K-9s skills in the
field.
Because our organization is a 501(c)3
non-profit, each handler is responsible for covering the costs of all
expenses related to training & deployment. Mileage
on vehicles, vet bills, dog food, dog toys, hiking gear, safety equipment, seminar fees. Everything is paid for by each volunteer member.

I believe in the search and rescue cause. Also I have a rescued pup which cements my belief even more.
What a great cause. In past yrs i've seen the dogs with their handles training at the elk pen in harriman- i also volunteers once to be a "lost" person for the dogs to find me.. keep up the wonderful & needed work!
