About this campaign

Support the 2014 Alternative Break Project by buying a limited edition Alternative Break Project shirt. Proceeds will go to the Leadership through Service Fund which supports the project.

This year marks our 7th Alternative Break Project. Brothers are traveling to Oklahoma City, OK in May to build an outdoor environmental science classroom for the students at Capitol Hill High School. The classroom will include a greenhouse which will allow students to practice what they have learned in their science classes.

Throughout the week, we will meet with Teach For America to learn more about educational inequity in Oklahoma City. We will also shadow Teach For America Corps Members while interacting with students in the classroom.

I remember well the hard work and sore muscles from building a shaded playground in 2008. But was worth it to see the motivation of the students and how inspired they were to see us ("strangers") invested in them. Go 2008 ABP!
