Paws and Whiskers Veterinary Cost Fundraiser

Paws and Whiskers is Toledo’s only ALL FELINE NO KILL FACILITY since October of 1996. We are a not for profit, 501 (C) 3 organization specializing in the care and placement of felines into forever homes. Unfortunately, this year's intakes of cats and kittens has produced unusually high vet bills. Our veterinary budget is normally about 5,000 a month and since the beginning of this year they have averaged $7,000 to $8,000 with June over $11,000. Our vet bills have been unusually high this year because with the help of a wonderful foster group we have been able to take more pregnant moms and abandoned kittens off the streets and place them into loving homes. However, caring for them obviously is not always easy or cheap. For example a litter of 8 5 week old kittens brought to the shelter malnourished, fighting an upper respiratory infection, and severe intestinal parasites ended up spending a week or more at Sylvania vet, and racked up about $8,000 bill. Thankfully we were able to save 7 of the 8 kittens. So far four have been adopted into their forever homes. Other medical expenses include dental cleaning\extractions, maintaining cats with kidney failure, leg amputations, weekly re-checks, ultrasounds, blood work diagnostics, weekly fecals examinations, and quarantining contagious felines. Thankfully as a no kill shelter we can fight to save as many felines as possible. Buying one or more of these T-Shirts can help us and help our feline friends in need. Our goal is to sell 500 shirts which would helps us pay for about one month of vet bills at a total of a little more then $6,400.
