Corporate education reform, which is not reform at all, is hurting children and destroying our schools. It must be stopped.
The tests are harmful to students, and have no educational value whatsoever. The tests only serve to reinforce inequity, and the corporate-sponsored privatization movement.
As an teacher at PS 372 in Brooklyn, I've been part of the testing that interfered with my students' learning for years. I want to make things right.
As a public school teacher I believe the tests to be an unfair measure of student success. My students are more than a number!
Opt out means refusing to buy into the idea that children are standardized, their education is somehow measured by an invalid measure, their teachers are robots who should teach to the test, their schools are valued by test scores. We Opt Out!
