Introduction to the founderhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Lm9mCF4PJo
My name is Amy Auerbach. I am theowner and founder of Northern Nevada DisabilityAccess inReno Nevadasince August 2010. We are still going strong today.

Originally, we started as awebsite with many services in our community. Then we lost many of the database due to a security issue. Now we are having to rebuilding the site. We have reached out to many organizations, agencies, and services in the Truckee Meadows as well as the rural areas too. We still have much more ground to cover.

Some wonderful features on the site are: event calendar, blog, testimonials, sign up for the monthly newsletter, links to our social networks, event calendar, places to go in the community, and of course the resource directory. We have made the site easy to navigate so anyone who visits will want to return again. Tell your friends and family about NNVDA.

My inspiration came to me because of my son whohas had disabilities since birthand now that he is a young adult, I felt the inclination to start a business. My son, Josiah, has been featured on Channel 2 "Someone 2 Know", Channel 4 at 4 with Shelby Sheenan, Sparks Tribune, and a documentary by two UNR journalism students. These videos can be found on the News Media page of the NNVDA website.

We want to provide not only referrals to these services, but become a clearing housefor anyone with a disability orhealth condition who can easily find these agencies online without having to utilize other searching sites.

Once we have reached our goal by ordering a t-shirt or making a contribution,we will be able to apply for non profit status.
