About this campaign

May 14-20 is food allergy awareness week 2017. Millions of children and adults live with life threatening food allergies, and for some, staying safe is more difficult due to contact and airborne allergies. Help raise awareness for nut and peanut allergies with this fun Ninja Nuts shirt, which is teal because teal is the food allergy awareness color.

It all started after being intubated due to anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction, from getting too close to someone eating nuts, and after finally being discharged from the hospital a week later, it felt like peanuts and tree nuts were stalking me everywhere, even where food wasn't allowed (like the metro, bus, in museums and other places that do not allow food). So, using art as a form of therapy, I started drawing the Ninja Nuts. They are a humorous way to remind people of my allergies and also to raise awareness of food allergies. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to help cover medical expenses I've incurred from frequent ER trips and hospitalizations due to anaphylaxis and the other conditions I have (Dysautonomia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Disease and more) and in turn I will use the time I am able to spend out of the hospital to make things to encourage other kids, teens and young adults with chronic health conditions to encourage them in their struggles and fight through life and health.
