Building a School in Vietnam

This summer Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry (GSMDM) is going to Vietnam to build a school and I have been invited to go!! I will be heading to a rural village in Vietnam for 15 days on July 10th. This is a super exciting opportunity for a variety of reasons:

• It will be my first huge service project

• My first time going overseas

• My first time out of the United States (well, I went to Mexico when I was 8, but I hardly remember it, so I won’t count it)

• My first time being away from home for two weeks.

However, for the same reasons, it also makes it extremely scary and anxiety provoking. The part that has made me most anxious about this trip is raising $1,800 in one month. The average team (from what I have heard) raises money in a 3-5 month span. In order to raise money in such a timely manner I designed a unisex T-shirt through Booster.com. These shirts cost $20. If I am able to sell 150 shirts I will raise almost the full amount of money I need. I do recognize that $20 is expensive for a single shirt that you do not know will be comfortable or not. If you feel compelled to support but do not want to buy a shirt, please email me. This is an opportunity for my team and I to love and serve others.
