About this campaign

The North Clackamas School Farm is home to a variety of farm animals used to give urban students hands-on experience in animal agriculture. These experiences are often the first step in developing student interest in careers in agriculture or creating more informed consumers.

Our classroom is 14 acres of barns, pastures, orchards and gardens. It is a place where kids from the suburbs learn about life, work ethic, self reliance, and leadership. In addition to the 2 Ag Teachers, there are 28 sheep, 6 cows, sows, chickens, a horse and rabbits that teach valuable lessons every day to the 160 kids that call the Land Lab their favorite classroom. Students enroll in this program because of the animals on the farm. These animals must generate income that lets the school farm sustain itself and as sometimes happens in agriculture, this is not going to be a good year generating that income.

The North Clackamas Agriculture program excels in leadership development. A National FFA Officer, National Agriscience Award winner and 14 National FFA Career Development Event competitors as well numerous state award winners have been produced as a result of hard work and dedication. This program feeds more animals, teaches more students, and provides more opportunities than ever before on half the budget we had ten years ago.

This is where you come in. Help preserve the opportunities provided by a hands on farm in the middle of the suburbs. Monies raised in this fundraiser will help maintain the animals that are such an important part of this program. Without some outside funding, we will be forced to severely cut back on the number of animals available to teach students about animal agriculture. We need your help now. Thank you for your interest and support.Me and DJPG

This is the best youth organization in the nation. It prepares students for college and teaches them many life skills and they will use for the rest of their lives! And the animals need to eat!!!

4-H and FFA have encouraged 3 of my four children (all now adults) to further their educations and/or careers in agriculture. Thank you Ruth Hazen (4-H), Mrs. Long and the Mayfields (FFA) for going above and beyond in educating and mentoring.
