About this campaign

On March 22, 2014 a mountain moved, a hillside came roaring down upon the peaceful town of Oso, causing complete and utter destruction of everything in its path.  The job ahead for the communities of Arlington, Oso and Darrington is huge.  In fact, it quite literally is a mountain... So much to try and do even with so many people doing great volunteer work and fundraising... At this point there cannot be enough help or giving... My goal is to help raise funds for the United Way Disaster Recovery Fund for Mudslide Relief.  With United Way 100% of the funds raised will go directly to those affected by the mudslide.  The United Way of Snohomish County does not even take out the administration fees.  I am excited to report that they are already dispersing funds to those in need.  Please feel free to purchase shirts, give a little extra or simply just share this campaign.  If you would prefer, here is the link to where you can donate directly to the United Way of Snohomish County. http://www.uwsc.org/recoveryfund.php .  Together we can move a mountain.

Just to quickly introduce myself my name is Heather, but some of you know me as Charli, the nickname my parents gave me many years ago. While I don't live in Arlington any longer, to me Arlington is more than a dot on a map. It is the place where I grew up, the place where I learned so much about life and where my best memories live.  To me, Arlington will always be my home no matter where I live.  You see, Arlington is more than a community, it's a family.  Just like so many, when I heard of the mudslide my heart broke, the tears flowed; the prayers began for my friends and their families.  Then my children and I started donating, tried volunteering.  There were too many volunteers, what a great problem to have! We just wanted to do anything to try and help.  Then one night, while talking with my kids about all of the fundraising that we were seeing, due to the incredible need, we decided that if we contacted all of our friends and family we could help even more.  So this is our hope, that together we really can move a mountain.  Won't you please join us?
