About this campaign

With each t-shirt purchased, you will not only raise awareness of this pregnancy disease and it's cancer but also help support exclusive, crucial developmental research and treament at Brigham and Women's Hospital. https://giving.brighamandwomens.org/choriocarcinoma

Gestational trophoblastic disease aka molar pregnancy is a rare disease in which tumors develop at the time of conception (egg(s) fertilized by one or more sperm) thus developing abnormal cells on the uterus at the begining stages at the formation of the placentia. These cells are germ cells and can turn malignant becoming the cancer choriocarcinoma. Not all molar pregnancies become malignant. There are two types of hydatidiform moles, a partial and a complete. A partial entails a viable pregnancy with fertilization of two sperm and the pregnancy will have to be terminated if not already naturally miscarried. A complete mole is a non-viable pregnancy with missing dna. In rare cases, there is a healthy baby alongside the complete mole. A complete mole is more likely to turn into malignant choriocarcinoma cancer, requiring chemotherapy and sometimes surgery. In either case, the losses are immensely great, making this disease a traumatic pregnancy loss.
Brigham and Women's Hospital in MA hold exclusive research on this cancer and it's disease. Dr. Goldstein founded the New England Trophoblastic Disease Center in 1965 and was the first regional center in the country. His research holds sole devout treatment of gtd and Dr. Goldstein is the leading doctor with advanced research and treatment.https://giving.brighamandwomens.org/choriocarcinoma
