Miss Angela's Team: Living With Lupus

Hey everyone, my name is Angela Melton and I was diagnosed with LUPUS in 2000. I must admit, I guess because LUPUS wasn't a household name and being that there was no known cure, it took me almost three years to get my condition under control. This was accomplished through layers of medication and lots of prayer. Throughout the next couple of years, I trained myself to live with the pain. Of course, some days were better than others but I was determined not to let LUPUS beat me. In December 2012, I began to loose sight in my right eye. After multiple examinations, it was concluded that this was one of the potential side effects of my LUPUS medication. In June 2014, I was prescribed Chemotherapy treatments in small doses that must be taken weekly to help fight this disease. Of course, with Chemotherapy treatment came hair and weight loss. But through the unwavering love and support of my husband, children, and beautiful grandchildren, and a support system which includes my awesome sisters and close friends, I know that I'm never alone and will never stop fighting. But I also know that not everyone that's fighting LUPUS has the support system that I have, or even access to information about this disease, and that's why I'm here. I believe that by raising awareness, we open the door for support. And that support can lead to more effective treatments and and hopefully a cure! That's why I decided to design this t-shirt so that when people see it, they will think of LUPUS and awareness is created. 100% of the proceeds will go towards LUPUS research and there will be no goal of how many I want sold. Whether it's one or one thousand, I'm thankful for the support!
