Chris Corbett. As many of you already know Chris Corbett, an employee of Brunson Pest Control, became ill on Jan. 14th of this year and was hospitalized at Doctor's Hospital of Augusta, Georgia on Jan. 16th after collapsing at home. The following Monday he was transferred to ICU where he spent approximately six weeks in a coma and on a ventilator, restrained and unable to speak or respond. During the following weeks he had blood transfusions, collapsed lung twice, lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy, a trach, a feeding tube and chest tube and many other procedures....if they could test for it they did - trying to diagnose him. He was eventually diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis (a muscle eating virus), H1N1 and developed pneumonia. He was unable to have anything by mouth because of aspiration and lost 51 pounds and if you know Chris you know he did not have any weight to lose. He was not expected to live - tell God that!!! He has begun to recover and after two and a half months in the hospital and a brief stint in rehab he is able to walk with a cane and was discharged on March 25th. We do not know when he will be able to return to work...his lungs are scarred as well. He has no insurance and at this time no income.
