Mindy Smith- HPO Training

As you may already know, humane laws can only be enforced by Humane Police Officers (HPO), other than the police. Most are volunteers (meaning they are not paid) and still have to maintain their jobs and families amongst going out to investigate all the calls that come in daily of an innocent animal being abused, neglected, starved, etc. In the state of PA, we have less than 12 HPO'S; leaving some cries for help not investigated on time or unheard all together due to such high demand of help needed. Recently we have had many humane cases of dogs being shot, killed, dead along the road, starved, abused, dropped off, and the list could keep going on. This being said, I think it is safe to say we need all the help we can get here in Fayette County. Our very own vice president of One Dog At A Time (ODAAT), Mindy Smith. Mindy would love to take a step forward and go to Humane Police Officer (HPO) Training so she can get the knowledge & skills necessary to protect our innocent animals. She is smart & caring, and she is also a dedicated animal lover in our community that works very hard to save and protect the animals. With doing so, she will have to take 8 days off of work and be away from her family & friends to attend training. She will need approximately  $1,400 for classes, training, travel, room & board. I would love to help raise enough money to pay for all of this! I have no doubt that once she is sworn in that she will take every step possible to protect our precious furbabies. Once training is complete, she plans to be sworn in by One Dog At A Time (ODAAT) and hopes to help Fayette County, which is in dire need of more Humane Police Officers.  Let's help Mindy Smith be the voice for our innocent animals.  Thank you SO much for your support. Without YOU, WE couldn't do what we do!
