About this campaign

Mental Health affects millions of children & adults everyday. Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. or 18.6% experiences mental illness in a given year. Approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder in a given year. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%.

Once again all money raised will go to a local Philadelphia organization, Minding Your Mind. Minding Your Mind’s primary objective is to provide mental health education to adolescents, teens and young adults, their parents, teachers and school administrators. Their goal is to reduce the stigma and destructive behaviors often associated with mental health issues. MYM offers mindfulness classes for students and teachers, as well as free workshops and presentations for schools. Chances are you have a loved one who is secretly hiding their emotions or illness. Help them have a voice and provide them with support and compassion.

54 million Americans have a mental illness in any given year, although very few actually seek treatment. The stigma associated with mental illness is still the biggest barrier that prevents people from getting treatment. Mental health is an illness and those who suffer need support. My mission is to help people understand and manage their mental health so they can live a flourishing life. I hope to encourage others to live a life of service and help others.

People with serious mental health conditions can and do recover. Creating an environment of hope is the first step for a successful recovery. The active involvement of people with mental health conditions and family members at all levels of planning and development is essential for the achievement of system transformation and successful outcomes. Through your compassion and support, we can change the views of mental health and plant the seeds of healthy minds for those in need.
