About this campaign
Luis has been my sponsor child for over 8 years. Last summer I visited Luis and his family in Ecuador and saw the dire living conditions his wonderful family has to live in. We asked the organization to price the repairs of his home so he can have proper walls, a roof and space for him and his siblings to learn. We are working hard to save and pay for the repairs ourselves but we need help to get us to our goal faster.
Luis' family is one of the happiest and nicest families I have ever met. Despite such hardships and living conditions (they average $300 a month in income) they are appreciative, kind to each other and welcomed us into their family. Luis' always shares with me how hard he is trying in school so he can get himself and his family to a better place.
My heart broke seeing how his family has to live to get by. All I want is to give him walls that are not see-through and a roof that's more than a patchwork of corrugated metal.
