Love in Action Fundraiser

Patchez had not been feeling well, so his mom Margo brought him to the vet. It was discovered that he had two infected teeth that had to be pulled. More teeth needed to be pulled as well, but because Patch was so ill the vet wanted to hold off. He also had a urinary tract infection, causing him further pain and discomfort. He was put on a course of antibiotics and pain medication. As if that weren't enough suffering, it was also discovered that poor Patches has diabetes. He no longer is on the pain meds or the antibiotic, but will be on insulin the rest of his life. His insulin is not regulated yet, so he has vet visits every few days to monitor blood sugar and sugar in his urine (which requires a blood and urine draw (via needle). He is feeling better than he was a few weeks ago-but mostly just sleeps all the time. He is eating and drinking now, fortunately. He is also on a special diabetic food for cats (the amount and times of feeding have to be carefully regulated.) He initially lost 4 lbs in a period of 2 weeks. Patchez has been through so very much in a short period of time, and as I'm sure you can understand, his vet bills have become insurmountable.
