#LoveForEli Jolixson's House

My four-year-old son, Eli, died 18 months ago. It has been the struggle of my life to learn to live again. I don't always get it right, but I try. I follow Love- deep, sacrificial love- and it leads me towards life and hope and joy.
Shortly after the new year I awoke to paypal notifications dinging that my friends were randomly sending me money. In my effort to try to figure out what was happening, I discovered that my dear friend had asked on social media for anyone who was so moved to sponsor the trip I was hoping to take to Haiti. The trip was fully funded before I woke up. I was floored.
Then another friend had the wild idea to continue to raise money to build a house in Eli's honor. She contacted the woman who runs the organization I will be visiting and working with and found just the right house for Eli. It is for a little boy named Jolixson and his family. Jolixson is 5 years old. Last year his mom died. It's been hard on his family. The year before, my little Eli died. He would be 5 years old now. Jolixson is a 5 year old boy without his mom. I am a mom without my 5 year old boy. This is a job for Love. We are honoring and remembering Eli and all the love he let into our lives by building a house for Jolixson and his family, to be safe and dry.
There are still people in Haiti whose makeshift homes are inhabitable since Hurricane Matthew devastated their towns last fall. It costs $4400 to build a small, sturdy home with a water cistern in Haiti.
At this point we are more than halfway there. We can finish funding this house and keep spreading LOVE!
